Week 9 Start'm and Sit'm

This week there are a lot of match-ups that offer big points to the big name players. But I have still managed to come up with three great start'ems and two sit'ems. This Friday I will post on a "bold" pick. On my blog I don't just follow what everyone else says I look for match-ups that are there that none of the experts talk about. Now lets start with the start'ems

My sleeper pick this week is Sidney Rice of Seattle. While Rice has been in double digits 3 out of the last 4 weeks he has a good opportunity against a Minnesota team that averages 30 fantasy points to opposing wide outs. Also I see the Seahawks having more time to move the ball since Ponder has turned the ball over 8 times in the last 4 weeks. I think Wilson will try to get Rice the ball against his former team.

Next comes Willis McGahee of Denver. McGahee should have a solid day against a Bengals defense that allows 25.9 fantasy points to running backs. With Payton Manning running the offense and showing he still has what it takes to play, the Broncos will have a balanced game plan that will allow McGahee to get his carries.

My last pick for the start'ems is Josh Freeman of Tampa Bay. Freeman is playing great since his bye week 3 weeks ago. Freeman has an average of 33 fantasy points the last 3 weeks after starting off middle of the road. Freeman has taken care of the ball the 3 weeks as well with only 1 int while have 9 td's. Oakland's defense has an avg of 22 points to QB's but look at Freeman to run the ball if he has to in goal line situations.

Now for the bad news of the sit'ems starting off with Pierre Thomas of New Orleans. Thomas has had dismal season to say the least. Thomas is averaging only 8 fantasy points a game. That is a terrible number not only for him but for a starting running back that has only 1 100 yard game and no other game above 43 yards. He is a player you may want to drop to waivers.

Next comes the Ravens D/ST. Without Ray Lewis, Webb, and a few other key defensive players this D got embarrassed against the Texans. Even though they are playing Cleveland who gave up 13 points to the Raven's in week 4 I don't see it happening again. the Raven's D will have an average day.

Now comes my report card from last week on I'd say I picked 5 out of 7 correctly but that is only an opinion. to start off I picked Jeremy Kerley of the Jets to have a a good game, well none of the Jets had a good game Kerley ended the day with only 9 points. Next came Jennings from Jax who had 10 points against a solid GB defense so that's a toss up. Then came Richardson from STL who put up 15 against NE while Jackson from STL only had 6 points. Also I picked Big Ben from Pit to have a solid game and he put up 23 against Washington. Lastly, my two SF picks of Alex Smith and Vernon Davis both i had as a sit'em. Smith had a great game ending with 23 points and Davis not so much with only 4 points. Check my Friday post for my bold prediction.
